It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Bette Sauerwald of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who passed away on February 15, 2025, at the age of 103, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Von-Langer and Alma Von-Langer (Kirkwood); her husband Joseph Sauerwald; her daughter Dolores Scalise; and her close friend Edward Brown.

She is survived by: her sons, Andrew M. Gurcules and Mark Sauerwald; her daughter-in-law Tanya Sauerwald; her grandsons, Len, Victor and Jason Scalise; and her great grandchildren, Selena and Justin Scalise.

Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel, Inc. (333 County Line Rd, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at the Sunset Memorial Park (333 County Line Rd, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bette's name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
