It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James E. Schafer of Peters, Pennsylvania, born in Springfield, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 23, 2024, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his children, John Jeffery, James Michael (Michelle), Valerie Rose (Tom Rose), Mark (Christine) and Brian (Aimee); and his grandchildren, Matthew, Jordan, Garrett, Katie, Brady, Carsyn, Marlena and Eve.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, nmcrs.org, would be appreciated.
