She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl C. Hess and Eva B. Hess (Gilbert); her son Michael A. Smith; and her brothers, Gordon W. Gilbert and Earl C. Hess Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Sheila D. (Gary L. Freed) of Pennsburg, RIchard A. Jr. (RuthAnn) of Green Lane and Shari D. Smith of Green Lane; and her siblings, Nancy L. (Charles A. Wetzel) of Harleysville, Diana C. (late Harry D. Blank) of Palm and Donald N. (Vicki) of Green Lane. She is also survived by five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
