He was predeceased by: his father James Smithers; his wife Kathleen Smithers; and his sister Patricia Swipes. He is survived by: his daughters, Kathy Zeoli (Michael), Kelly Hardy (Larry) and Susan Figgles (Joe); his grandchildren, Jennifer Seraphin (Sean), Shawn Hardy, Gina Silvestri (Paul), Ryan Hardy (Michele), Lawrence Hardy (Krystal) and Brendan Higgins; and his siblings, James Smithers (Olga), Robert Smithers (Cheryl) and Lorraine Shannon. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
