He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Margaret Wise (Veach) and Vernon Laing Wise Sr.; his wife Sarah Jayne Cromwell; and his siblings, David and Virginia.
He is survived by: his children, Jamie Wise Lanier (Addison Lanier II) of Cincinnati and Vernon "Chip" L. Wise III of Butler; and his grandchildren, Vance Smith IV, Evan Smith, Bennett Smith, Sarah Jane Smith, Vernon L. Wise IV and Jessica Lawson Wise. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Nixon Methodist Church and Butler County Humane Society.
