He was predeceased by: his parents, Guido Malacarne and Luigia Benassutti Malacarne; his former wife Margie Harriger; and his siblings, Polly Stewart, Mary Kline, Arthur and Silvio.

He is survived by: his son John (Dennie); his granddaughter Leah Dolby; his wife Janice Smeal King; his daughters, Susan Dolby and Patricia Dull (Robert); his grandchildren, Tim Malacarne (Roopa), Jonathan Malacarne (Janet), Mark Malacarne (Lauren), Leah Dolby Clarke (David), Grant Dull (Morgan) and Natalie Dull; and his great grandchildren, Kailaash and Benjamin Malacarne.

Memorials may be made to the DuBois Area Food Pantry or the local Salvation Army.
