Doris Ann Mastalski Obituary

Doris Ann (Clavel) Mastalski, 93 years old, of Penn Township, PA, passed away on May 8, 2024.

Doris was born on July 15, 1930 in Jeannette, PA, to Benjamin and Eugenie Mazurie Clavel. She graduated from Jeannette High School and was married to her husband, Edward, for 63 years. Doris was an accomplished seamstress and a wonderful cook. She was one of God's magical caregivers, tending to children and family members, adopting stray dogs and cats into our family, and feeding a multitude of birds and squirrels. Wilted plants that had been given up for dead flourished when placed in her care.

She was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Clavel; her mother, Eugenie Mazurie Clavel; her husband, Edward John Mastalski; and her sister, Gladys Clavel.

Doris is survived by her two daughters, Amy (Scott) Jones of Greensburg, and Karen (Timothy Barkley) Mastalski of Jeannette; five granddaughters, Claire Jones, Katherine Jones, Hannah (Dominic) DeFabo, Katie Bleu Barkley-Mastalski, and Sarah Barkley-Mastalski; and grandson, Nickolas Jones. She is also survived by her nephew, Donald (Marlee) Drury; and two nieces, MaryBeth (Garry) Smyda and Joni (Chris) Parry.

She will be dearly missed by all, especially her beloved dog, Igor. Friends will be received at Lindsay-Jobe Funeral Home, Inc., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City, 724-744-2721, on Friday, May 10 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 11 at 10:00 am at St. Barbara Catholic Church, 111 Raymaley Road, Harrison City, with Fr. Michael Sikon officiating.
