She was predeceased by: her parents, Harrison Wilson and Lillian Cheatle Wilson; her husband Walter E. Mertz; her son Dennis Mertz; her grandchildren, Jennifer Mertz and Devin Mertz; and her siblings, Helen Schneider, Ruth Wilson, Richard Wilson and John Wilson.
She is survived by: her children, Gloria Nussbaum (Ed), Amy Walker (Gary), Gary Mertz (Mary), Thomas Mertz and David Mertz (Kathy) of St. Marys; her grandchildren, Michelle Salvaggio, Dana Lander, Melissa Dexter, Michael Nussbaum, Jason Mertz, Melinda Cronin, Melanie Peed, Whitney Mertz, Ashley Lewis, Dustin Walker, Chelsea Geyer and D. J. Mertz; and her brother Thomas Wilson of St. Marys. She is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
