He was predeceased by: his parent James R. Braun; and his sibling Carol Ann Palumbo. He is survived by: his parent Alma L. James; his children, James R. Braun (Amanda) and Jennifer Braun; his grandchildren, Ryan, Narya, Malena and Aiden; his siblings, Linda Lapata (Larry) and Robert William Braun; and his sibling-in-law Robert Palumbo.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the family are preferred to cover funeral expenses.
