He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmo Gropelli and Betty Jane Gropelli (Brady); his child Shawn Gropelli; and his brother David Gropelli. He is survived by: his wife Pam Gropelli; his children, Michele McSorley (Dan), Greg Gropelli (Tori) and Jimmy Gropelli; his stepson Brian McCracken; and his sisters, Mary Ann Schultz (Art), Margaret Rose Brown and Linda Faith Gillespie (Jim). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
