He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel H. DeLong and Helen DeLong (Shook); his siblings, Daniel E. DeLong, Sr., Grace Handelong and Lucille Compton; and his nephew Kenny Compton.

He is survived by: his niece Diane "D. D." Gilmore; and his nephews, Daniel DeLong, Jr., Edward Compton, Jr., Christopher Compton, Sr., Dennis Compton, Kevin Compton, David Compton, Sr. and Jeffrey Compton, Sr.. He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews, and many great-great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lookout Fire Co. #1, 123 S. Main St., Pen Argyl, PA 18072.
