He was predeceased by: his parents, Veryl R. Barr and Ella M. Barr (Duff); and his siblings, Henry S. Overly, Sherman C. Overly, Chester C. Barr and Marie E. Ragan.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy M. Barr (Shearer); his children, Ann Marie Barr and Mitch Barr; his granddaughter Morgan; and his brother William E. Overly (Mildred).
