She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence H. Swaney and Ellen M. Swaney (Roberts); her spouse Merle Leo Mearkle; and her brother Elmer "Chub" Swaney. She is survived by: her daughter Autumn Barger (Jay) of Altoona; her grandson Drake Leo Barger of Altoona; and her sisters, Peggy McKee of Duncansville and Patty Hale of Altoona. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
