He was predeceased by: his parents, John Earl and Bernadine Helen Mentzer (Lockard); and his siblings, Dave, John, Donald, William Mentzer and Mary Jane Caldwell.

He is survived by: his wife Janet Louise Stouffer; his sons, Terrance B. "Terry" Mentzer of Altoona and Steven F. Mentzer (Rebecca) of Altoona; his stepsons, Robert L. Creamer Jr. (Lisa) of Duncansville and Jody L. Creamer (Dianne) of Altoona; his grandchildren, Brandi Hale, Amanda Hoke, Tobias Mentzer, Stanley Hoke, Troy Mentzer, Marissa Mentzer and Madison Mentzer; his stepgrandchildren, Danielle Conway, Ashley, Kirsten, Heather, Shanna Creamer and Trevor Hogans; his great grandchildren, Sophia, Colby and Charlotte; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Madison, Braydon, Jaxon, Noah, Natalie and Finn.
