He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Mendenhall and Grace Arters Mendenhall; and his sons, Larry, Allen, Jr. and Dennis Mendenhall.
He is survived by: his children, Hedwig "Hedy" Thompson (Richard) of Honey Brook, Danny Mendenhall (Jill) of Honey Brook and Ronald Mendenhall (Wendy) of Pottstown, PA; his grandchildren, Richard Thompson, Allen Mendenhall and Dominica Mendenhall; his great grandchildren, Josslyn, Evan, Lillian and Jace Thompson; and his brother Paul Mendenhall of Paoli, PA..
