He was predeceased by: his spouse Sandy Sweigart Hersh; his parents, Parke Hersh and Elsie Waltman Hersh; and his siblings, Mildred Weaver, Parke Jeff Hersh, Stella Newcomer and Betty Seger.
He is survived by: his sons, Douglas (Tammy Hersh) of Paradise and James "Jamie" (Suzanne Hersh) of Centreville, MD; his grandchildren, Derek, Elizabeth, Kaitlyn and Claire Hersh; and his sister Dorothy Fisher of Winsor.
