He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Watson and Helen Speakman Watson; and his brothers, Richard, John Watson and Stanley Bleacher.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Wiker Watson; his children, Donald A. Jr. (Teresa Young Watson) of Paradise, Steven W. (Dawn Peachey Watson) of East Earl and Pamela L. (Dan Heininger) of York; and his sister Joyce McCullough of Wellsboro.
