Ernie Devlin wrote a sympathy message

“I played for Joe in the Fall of 2019. Our team had a lot of injuries and was just not very good. We lost a lot of games. I was one of the injured players for most of the season. I sat on the bench with Joe for a few games. We watched of missed grounders and bad throws. He took the loses in a matter of fact, almost stoic manner. As much as he hated losing games, he realized the most important thing about softball is spending time with the guys. I will miss him. Ernie Devlin”
