He was predeceased by: his parents, Alberta Murden (Carter) and Alton Murden, Sr.; and his sisters, Elizabeth and Joyce Shepherd. He is survived by: his wife Eleanor Dalton of Paoli; his children, Alton Murden III (Becky Johnson) of Paoli, Farrah Boggan (Tevin) of Durham, NC, Katrina Perry of Philadelphia, PA and Jason Murden (Lashonda) of Raleigh; his siblings, Brenda Murden Perry of Paoli, John Shepherd of West Chester, PA, Jeannie, Janie, Donna, Lynda and Patricia; and his grandchildren, Daquan, Shawn, Asher, Breanna, Ajeya, Deavion, Diara, Mailea, Aubrielle and Amiyah. He is also survived by two great grandchildren; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and family friends.
