She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Kaufman and Dortha Kaufman (Speck); her husband Robert Edward Sands; her daughter Julia Sands; and her brother John Kaufman.

She is survived by: her daughter Susan Sands; her grandchildren, Dominic Frittelli (Julia) and Alexandra Rausch (Erik); and her great grandchildren, Lily Frittelli, Caleb and Adeline Rausch.
