He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel L., Sr. and Mary J. Zern (Weit); and his brother Samuel L. "Butch" Zern, Jr.. He is survived by: his sisters, Sandra F. Rhoads and Darlene K. Shuey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
