He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Walter and Della Mae O'Shell (Pearce); his grandson Adam Sorrels; his siblings, Walter O'Shell, Arlene Clark, Chester O'Shell, Delmont O'Shell, James Snapp and Esther O'Shell; and his half-brother John McCusker.
He is survived by: his daughters, Deborah A. Halterman (Allan) of New Stanton and Bonnie J. Sorrels (Allen Leibich) of Cleona; his grandchildren, Ryan Halterman (Cassandra Alexander), Shannon Christner (Braden), Melissa Whitsel (Joshua) and Michelle Sorrels; his great grandchildren, Aria Halterman, Scarlett Halterman, Penelope Halterman, Paisley Christner, Bentley Christner, Layken Christner, Clover Whitsel, Milo Whitsel, Frances Whitsel and Delilah Whitsel; and his sister Caroline Currie.
