He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Armstrong and Verna Armstrong (Snavely); and his brother Ronald Armstrong. He is survived by: his wife Rita Armstrong (Murray); his children, Victoria Cassel, James Armstrong, Jr., Matthew Armstrong, Melissa Parker and Erica Shutt; his grandchildren, Brianna, Jeremy, James, III, Tiffany, Jacqueline, Latasha, Dorianna, Damian, Justice, Curtis, Cheyenne, Steven, Sr., Nickolus and Ayden; his great grandchildren, Kinsley, Quinn, Preslee, Juliet, James, IV, Addison, Adilyn, Brantley, Krista, Steven, Jr. and Aleigha; and his siblings, Shirley Baum, Judith Myers and Harvey "Skip" Armstrong, Jr..
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the American Legion Post 910, 75 Fisher Ave., Jonestown, PA.
