He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter T. Dayton and Elizabeth Dayton (Weir). He is survived by: his stepson Scott King; his wife Bonnie K. Dayton (Moyer); his children, Kelly Dayton and Kevin Dayton; his stepdaughter Bobbie Jo Pellegrini; and his brothers, Henry Dayton and Victor Dayton. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
