He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl M. Whitmore and Hazel Whitmore (Gingrich); his wife Ruth Whitmore (Boyd); his siblings, Agnes Hartman, Carl Whitmore and Dorothy Stechman; his stepsister Evelyn Pavone; his stepdaughter Geraldine Hainly; and his stepgrandson Donald C. "Skip" Hainly.
He is survived by: his stepgranddaughter Lee Anne Sattazahn (Robert); his stepgreat-grandchildren, Steven Sattazahn (Amanda) and Susan Gillam (Jason); and also Kathy Hainly. He is also survived by great grandsons, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
