He was predeceased by: his wife Edna M. Mertz Frey (Steigerwalt); his former wives, Pauline Frey (Myers) and Eleanor Frey (Driesbach); his parents, Charles Frey and Mary Frey (Kistler); his daughter Joan Springer; his stepdaughter Lillie Ann Sherron; and his brothers, Harold, Russell, Nevin and Paul Frey.
He is survived by: his son Richard Frey (Lynn) of Florida; his stepson Dennis Mertz (Sasse) of Palmerton; and his siblings, Carrie Stewart, Myrtle Creitz of Mahoning Valley, Marlin Frey (Betty) of Mahoning Valley, Charles Frey of Kunkletown, Donald Frey of Levittown, Norwood Frey (Joan) of Morrisville and Kermit Frey of Florida. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews.
