He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Coverly and Bertha Roff Coverly. He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Gellura Coverly; his sons, John L. Coverly, Jr. (Abby) of Middletown, DE, Thomas E. Coverly (Tiffany) of Pensacola, FL, Christopherjohn A. Coverly (Sunny) of Oxford, PA and Derek E. Coverly (Kristin) of Chattanooga, TN; his grandchildren, Ashley Coverly Lumpkins (Trevor), Joshua Coverly, Cameron Coverly, Tyler Coverly, Caitlyn Coverly, Kerrigan Coverly, Gracyn Coverly, Keaton Coverly, Annika Coverly and Anniston Coverly; and his great grandchild Beckham Lumpkins.

Visitation was held on Saturday, October 5th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Waterway Church (550 Waterway Rd, Oxford, PA 19363). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 5th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
