She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Henry R. Covington and Lillie Chance Covington; her husband Orville L. Rifenburg, Jr.; her children, Douglas W. (Sally), Joseph S. (Pat), Ronald K. (Judy), Dave Rifenburg and Alison Rifenburg Osborne; and her sister Louise Greener. She was also cherished by 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
