He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Kovach and Sue Kovach (Kendro); his wife Edna Mae Kovach (Comitz); his former wife Lois J. Kephart Kovach (Baughman); and his siblings, Mary Ann Kovach Bowman, Mike and George Kovach.
He is survived by: his children, Darlene Smolko (Michael) of Osceola Mills, PA and John T. Kovach, Jr. (Toni) of Clearfield, PA; his brother Joe Kovach of Detroit, MI; and his grandchildren, Michael Smolko, Rebecca, Claire, Vincent and Dominic Kovach.
