With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Evelyn J. Shimmel (Osceola Mills, Pennsylvania), born in Bigler, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 9, 2017 at the age of 85. She was predeceased by: her parents, Braden Woodside and Martha Woodside (Stevens); her husband Harry D. Shimmel; her children, Beth Ann Sortman and Donald T. Shimmel; and her daughter-in-law Andrea.

She is survived by: her son John M. Shimmel (Kathy) of Osceola Mills, PA; her grandchildren, Mike Shimmel (Laura), Jeff Shimmel (Jodi), Brayden Sortman and Kristine Santangelo (Anthony); and her great grandchildren, Michael, Matthew Shimmel, Madison and Emily Santangelo.
