He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Schaeffer and Ruth Schaeffer (Reigle); and his brothers, Paul, Robert and Gerald Schaeffer.
He is survived by: his wife Betty M. Schaeffer (Reed); his pet SeyVal; his children, Mark A. (Mary Reed) of Edenburg, LaMar, Tacey Schaeffer of Schuylkill Haven, Jacqueline (Thomas Gruver) of Auburn and Tina Schaeffer of Deer Lake; his grandchildren, Cayla Witman (Matthew), Shawn Gruver (Brittney), Jonathan Gruver (Melanie), Brianna Marquez (Jon), Christopher Reed, Greg Reed (Jennifer) and Jared Diehl (Anne Marie); his great grandchildren, Tyler, Jason, Piper, Owen, Carson and Eliana; and his siblings, Wade "Butch" Schaeffer, Gloria Bercher and Bev Schneider.
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no public viewing.
