He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Christine (Shoener) and Bright Augustus Berger; his brother Jerry Berger (Peg); and his great grandchild Savannah Sullivan. He is survived by: his wife Ruby Lorraine Berger (Mengel); his children, Bonnie J. Laverty (Rob), Joanne B. Sullivan (John), Christell Berger, Barry J. (Lauren Berger) and James B.; his grandchildren, Carolyn E. Pfau (Jim Henry), Emily A. Kelly (George), John Sullivan, III, Meghan Reeves (Tremaine), Caitlin Sullivan, Christopher Berger (Christine), Elizabeth Berger, Andrew Laverty (Alyssa) and Ryan Laverty; his great grandchildren, Brayden, River, Denver, Remi, Zoey, Beau, Keoni, Andrew, Emily, Dominic, Madeleine, Liam and Eileen Jay; and his siblings, Mardelle (late Fred Deibert), Mary Anne (Gale Sterner) and Willis (Barbara Berger). He is also survived by father and patriarch of his family.
