He was predeceased by: his parents, Carrie F. Falls-Shappell and Gerald W. Shappell Sr.; and his grandmother Olive M. Falls. He is survived by: his daughters, Jaymee Kruss (William Kruss) of Pottsville and Lucia Dela-Monica of Schuylkill Haven; his granddaughters, Zavry J. Jones of Pottsville and Teagan B. Kruss of Pottsville; and his sisters, Marty G. Koch (Robert Koch) of Schuylkill Haven and Lori A. Meyer (Steven Meyer) of St. Louis, Missouri. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
