He was predeceased by: his parents, Emery Gipe and Dorothy Marker Gipe; his wife Laura A. Porter Gipe; and his brothers, Dolan Gipe and Edward Gipe.
He is survived by: his children, Robyn L. Cross, Ponte, Diana L. Lotter of Sykesville, MD, Jeffrey A. Gipe and Matthew T. Gipe (Chanda); his siblings, Brian Gipe (Heather) of Lewistown, PA, Susan Aungst (Gary) of McVeytown and Cheryl Bearley (Thomas) of McVeytown; and his sisters-in-law, Carol Gipe of Bellville, PA and Robin Gipe of Windsor, PA.. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
