We bid farewell to James W. Kirby Sr. of Oreland, Pennsylvania, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 31, 2025 at the age of 80. James touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his wife Jeannie Kirby; and his sister Dolores Smith. He is survived by: his children, James W. Kirby, Jr. (Tracy), Patrick M. Kirby, Sr. (Lorie), Christopher J. Kirby, Sr. (Megan), Janine M. Kirby and Brian M. Kirby; and his grandchildren, Nicole Kirby, Callie Kirby, Patrick M. Kirby, Jr., Caroline Kirby, Cassidy Kirby, Nicholas Kirby, Aidan Kirby, James W. Kirby III, Catherine Kirby, Sophia Conenna and Christopher J. Kirby, Jr.. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral Mass was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Genevieve's Church (1225 Bethlehem Pike, Flourtown, PA 19031).
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations to either the Officer Daniel Boyle Scholarship Fund, PO Box 11511, Philadelphia, PA 19116, OR the Fr. Bill Atkinson, O.S.A. Guild, Province of St. Thomas of Villanova, 214 Ashwood Road, Villanova, PA 19085.
