He was predeceased by: his wife Sandra Ruch (Groller); his parents, Emery J. Ruch and Myrtle I. Ruch (Gogle); his children, Warren Ruch (Dianne Vortman) of Orefield and Tami L. Pizzuto (Joseph) of New Tripoli; his grandsons, Joseph M. Pizzuto Jr. (Nicole Bubar) of Maine and Ryan M. Pizzuto (Amber Tokarzk) of Germansville; and his siblings, Willoughby Ruch, Carl T. Ruch and Linda B. Fuchs.
