He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfonso Bennett and Hazel Bennett (Dalious); his siblings, Albert Bennett, Richard Bennett and Dawn Campbell; and his brother-in-law Gary Whalen, Sr..

He is survived by: his wife Gladys M. Bennett; his son Donald L. Bennett, Jr. (Brenda) of Bloomsburg; his grandchildren, Douglas Bennett (Katie Downs) and Breanna Bennett (Curtis Harner); his great grandchildren, Brooks Allen Bennett, Crue Grayson Harner and Carys Ceaton Harner; his siblings, Shirley Showers of Berwick, Ann (Bill Winn), Elmer Bennett, Larry Bennett (Janet), Frank Bennett (Darlene), Gary Bennett and Debra (Sonny Makar); and his sister-in-law Faye Bennett of Bloomsburg.
