He was predeceased by: his parent Dorothea Mae Linsey; his grandparents, George William and Minnie Belle Linsey (Cornell); his adoptive father Clarence Henry Gatesman; his parent Dorothea Mae Gatesman Ford (Linsey); his stepsiblings, James Gatesman and Marilyn Hopwood (Gatesman); and his close friends, Doug Norde and Jimmy Briggs.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Bidell (Robert) and Craig Gatesman; his grandchildren, Emily Grotts (Bryan), Grace Bidell, Gabriel Bidell, Joseph Gatesman and Ava Gatesman; his great grandchildren, Wesley Grotts of Phoenix, AZ and Daniel Grotts of Phoenix, AZ; his stepsister Lois Hepfinger of Troy, NY.; his nieces and nephews, Mark Hopwood, Debbie Hopwood, Karen Gatesman, Linda Gatesman and Jim Gatesman Jr.; and his cousins, Mike and Cristy Drusko.
