He was predeceased by: his daughter Linda Salsgiver (Wally); his grandson Tony Buzzelli; his wife Carol Coates (Cookie); and his brother Robert Coates (Joann). He is survived by: his children, Irene Donnelly (Tim), Kim Schnell (Gary) and Lisa Coates Klavoral; his stepdaughters, Karen Dixon and Kathy Flaherty (Bear); his grandchildren, Jason Salsgiver (Lori), Nicole Buzzelli, Danielle Willis (Dan), Ryan Donnelly (Amber) and Ashley Donnelly (Tom Maguire); his siblings, Kay Joyce, Judy McGuire, Alice Whiteman, Sue Miller and John Coates (Doris); and his close friend Marilyn Wetmore.
