He was predeceased by: his parents, Alma Kensinger, and Joseph Kensinger, Sr.; his wife Mary Kensinger; his son David Kensinger; and his siblings, Carol and Robert Kensinger.

He is survived by: his children, Lynne Galley (Ken) and Laurie Haradzin; and his grandchildren, Joe Galley (Bethany), Erin Kensinger and Alyssa Haradzin.
