Schafers and Anna Mae Schafers (Tinker); his stepmother Jenny Irene Schafers; his siblings, Nancy Schafers, Carol Hufnagel (Nicholas), Mary Lou Barone (Gary), William Schafers (Suzanne) and Deborah Schafers; his nieces and nephews, Jeffrey Hufnagel, Michael Schafers and Kelly Schafers; and his aunt Suzanne Temple (Brady).
