He was predeceased by: his mother Nancy H. Gordon. He is survived by: his wife Tracey Smith; his son Alexander "Xander" Tucker Gordon; his father Thomas "Tucker" P. Gordon (Kathryn); his siblings, Dr. Amy H. Gordon (James), Timothy H. Gordon (Wendy) and Sara G. McCargo (Thomas); and his stepsiblings, James P. Edson (Linda), Kristin F. Edson (Helen), Sarah E. Gauthier (Jay), Michael H. Edson, Anne E. Lassiter (Nolan) and Kathryn E. Koppanyi (Andras). He is also survived by his 29 nieces and nephews.
