She was predeceased by: her parents, George Byers and Francys Byers (Stayer); and her spouse Gordan E. Shipman. She is survived by: her son Russell A. Shipman; her brother Robert; and her sister-in-law Betty Byers of State College. She is also survived by 20 nieces and nephews.
