He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn; his parents, Clay and Ethel; his brother William; and his grandsons, Brandon and Logan Sherwood.
He is survived by: his sister Margaret Stairs; his daughters, Barbara Hall (David) of Pittsburgh, Laura Geckle (Mark) of Webster, NY and Lynda Sherwood (Bradley) of Lancaster, PA; and his grandchildren, Emily Hall (Kevin Miller), Rebecca Ashton-Hall (Benjamin), John Hall, Joshua Geckle (Chloe Nagle), Sarah Flynn (Ryan), Matthew Geckle, Andrew Sherwood and Brian Sherwood.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Vaun's memory to, St. Paul Lutheran Church, 108 Dutch Hill Rd, Latrobe, PA 15650.
