He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Schachte and Anastasia Nolan Schachte; and his brothers, Jack, Paul, Joe, James, Francis, Richard and Leroy.

He is survived by: his wife Helen; his sister Mary Catherine Lazor; his daughter Carol (Gary); his grandson Nolan; his sons, Micheal (Terri) and Robert (Deanna); and his granddaughters, Ava and Lyla. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
