He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert K. Stender and Elizabeth Stender (Holoua); and his wife Mary M. Stender (Bordan). He is survived by: his sons, Michael A. K. Stender (Brenda Jones) and Joseph H. Stender Jr. (Judy Allen); his grandchildren, Jill D. Snyder (Toby), Leilani Burley (Jason) of Michael, A. K, Stender Joseph H. (William Gelbaugh) and Stender III (Rimanda); his great grandchildren, Kaiulani, Roslyn, Willow, Murray, Mara, Mayka, Nora, Madilyn, Benjamin, Abraham, Penelope, Amelia and Camden; and his pet Dozer.
