He was predeceased by: his parents, John and Mary Toplovich Zavinski, Sr.; his son James M. Zavinski; his daughter-in-law Cindy Wykoff Zavinski; his siblings, Mike and Louise; and his sisters-in-law, Carol Wasielewski and Kay Zavinski.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia; his sons, John M. Zavinski (Marsha Hunt) and Scott A. Zavinski (Cassia); his grandchildren, Katie Prettyman (Andy) of Warren, Kristy Hanks (Andy) of Warren and Kyle Zavinski of Warren; his great grandchildren, Adrya Prettyman and Drew Hanks; and his siblings, Marian Beardsley (Clair) of Warren, Paul Zavinski (Ruth) of Warren, Kathy Briggs (Craig) of Warren and Jim Zavinski (Frankie) of Warren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
