He was predeceased by: his parents, William T. Holmes and Emmaline Cigrand Holmes; his wife Fay M. Brookmiller Holmes; his siblings, William, James Holmes, Martha Heath and Katherine Moore; and his son-in-law James Hough.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Hough of Prospect, Conn. and Charles Holmes (Jo) of Irwin; his grandsons, Mathew Hough (Shari), Christopher Hough (Amy), Sean Holmes and Logan Holmes (Kristin); and his great grandchildren, Peyton, Aiden Hough, Alexis, Aaron Hough and Victor Larger. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
