Helen M. Matava Obituary
In loving memory of Helen M. Matava of North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, who departed this world on April 8, 2025 at the age of 92. Helen leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Gelumbus and Elizabeth Hreha Gelumbus; her husband Edward "Bub" Matava; her sister Mary Elizabeth Regan; and her son-in-law Christopher McHugh.
She is survived by: her daughters, Linda McCandless (Gary) of North Huntingdon, Kathy McHugh of North Huntingdon and Lori Hood (Tom) of North Huntingdon; her sister Elaine Conroy; her grandchildren, Gary (Candace), Jeffrey (Jamie), Ryan McCandless (Meghan), Erin McHugh, Andrew McHugh (Chris Henderson), Kayla Herring (Rob) and Elizabeth Leber (Brandon); and her great grandchildren, Tyler, Dylan, Kyra, Lyla, Matava, Michael, Aubrey, Maxton, Vivian, Hadley and Allie. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church (200 Leger Rd, Irwin, PA 15642).
Memorials may be made to the Redstone Benevolent Fund, North Huntingdon, or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
