Donald F. Austin Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Donald F. Austin of North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 20, 2025 at the age of 87. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Donald F. Austin to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Austin and Elizabeth Austin (Smith); his siblings, Julius J. Austin and Elizabeth E. Tkac; his grandson Jared Lee Hooke; his great grandchild Jett Roman Austin; and his siblings-in-law, John, Frank, Bill Patterson, Bob Cornell, Steve Cindric, Gay Austin (Bost), Carol Patterson (Maley) and Dorlee "Geege" Patterson.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley J. Austin (Patterson); his children, Tracy Hawley (Bill) of Irwin, Donn Austin (Cindy) of Penn Township, Erin Hooke (Bill) of North Huntingdon and Chad (Curren Katz) of Titusville, NJ; his grandchildren, Joey (Sara), Joshua (Samantha), Andy (Katrina), Jonathan (Carley), Ryan (Claudia), Colin (Katelynn), Jesse (Amber), Devin (Lindsay), Jadon, Aidan, Caelan and Emiliana; his great grandchildren, Jayce, William, Charlotte, Lyam, Lily, Marshall, Maeve, Celine and Silas; and his goddaughter Valerie Luehm (David). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the William Snyder Funeral Home, Inc. (521 Main St, Irwin, PA 15642). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers a contribution can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
